Ingredients
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1 star anise
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger root
- 1 teaspoon sambal olek -- to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon Umami powder or Hondashi
- 2 green onion whole -- sliced

Instructions
- In a 2 quart saucepan, add all ingredients except for green onions. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.
